Who can use this feature?
All member roles can share a Lightbox that they own.
Available on all plans
There are two main ways to share a Lightbox. You can invite specific people to the Lightbox. You can invite people who are already members of your Mediagraph organization, or invite new people. If you invite someone who is not a member of your Mediagraph organization, they will receive an email inviting them to create a Mediagraph account and will be able to join your organization as a restricted member.
You can also create a share link that allows anyone with the link to access the Lightbox without signing in to the account. This is the easiest way to distribute files to a large group of people. However, anyone accessing the Lightbox without signing in will not be able to make comments in the Lightbox.
The easiest way to describe the permissions is to show you. The following video (6:07-10:20) demonstrates the permission behavior.
Invited Member Access
- You can invite members to join a Lightbox or a Project (but not an Organizer). By default, an invited Member will see a small watermarked version of the files, which they cannot download.
- The invited Member may have some other access to the file (e.g. they are part of a group that can see or download a full size version).
- The Lightbox Owner can confer any permission they have to Invited Members. In order to do this, they must override the default settings in the Permission panel.
Lightbox members can...
- View all assets in the Lightbox.
- Download files (if the Lightbox owner has granted permission).
- Add comments (only Lightbox Members can see comments).
- Set picks and rejects.
- Clone to a new Lightbox.
Share Link Access
You can make a share link for a Lightbox (not a Project or an Organizer).
Non-members with a share link can...
- View all assets in the Lightbox.
- Download files based on share link permissions.
