If you're getting an error when trying to invite someone to your Mediagraph account, it's likely because each email address can only be associated with one membership. Listed below are four of the most common reasons why an invitation might fail:
- They are already an active member
- Their account has been deactivated
- They have a pending membership request
- They have a pending invitation
If you are unable to find the email in any of the places shown below, or you're seeing a different kind of error message, contact Mediagraph Support for assistance.
They're already an active member
You won't be able to invite a new member if their email address already belongs to an active member of your account. If you receive this error:
Search your Members list for the email you're trying to add — you'll find them already there with Status marked Active. No further action is needed.
Tip: If the user can't sign in, they can use the Forgot Password flow to regain access.
Their account has been deactivated
This error appears when the email address belongs to a previous member whose account is currently deactivated:
You don't need to send a New Invite — instead, reactivate their existing account. For instructions on how to do this, see Reactivate a Member.
They have a pending membership request
This error appears when the email address belongs to someone who has already submitted a request to join your workspace:
Resolve a pending membership request
- Go to Settings > Members > Requests.
- Click the Requests tab.
- Locate the request in the list with Status marked Pending, or enter the requester's name or email address in the Search bar to find it.
- Click Respond in the Actions column.
- Assign the appropriate Role in the Membership Request panel.
- Click Approve.
The requester will receive an email inviting them to sign up for their Mediagraph account. Once they complete registration, they'll appear in your Members list with an Active status.
They have a pending invite
This error appears when the email address belongs to someone who has already been invited to your Mediagraph account but hasn't accepted their invite yet:
Resolve a pending invite
- Go to Manage > Members > Invites.
- Filter the Status column to show Pending invites and click OK.
If the recipient's email appears, they haven't yet accepted the invite or verified their email address. - Click Resend in the Actions column to send the invite again.
If the invite email isn't getting through, it may have been caught in spam or otherwise not delivered. In that case you can send the invite link manually instead:
- Go to Manage > Members > Invites.
- Locate the pending invite in the Invites list, or use the Search bar to find the recipient by name or email.
- Click Link in the Actions column to open the invite link pop-up, then copy the link.
- Share the link with the recipient directly.
When they follow the link, they'll be prompted to create their account and join your organization.
