The Front Page is usually what members see first when they log in to your Mediagraph account, and it helps confirm which organization they've landed on. By default, the Front Page uses Mediagraph's standard appearance, along with your branding colors, but you can customize the page with your own Headline, Copy Block, Banner Image, and Featured Collections so it reflects the look of your organization.

What's on the Front Page

Here's what members see, and what each part does:

  1. Headline: A short title shown at the top of the page, usually your organization's name. Leave this field blank to hide the headline.
  2. Copy Block: A short description shown below the Headline. Use it to introduce your organization or explain what the account is for. Leave this field blank to hide the description.
  3. Banner Image: The image displayed behind the Headline and Copy Block. If your account includes Featured Collections, the banner appears above them.
  4. Featured Collections: Collections highlighted for specific Groups. Members only see Featured Collections they can access in the Library, which lets the Front Page act as a custom landing page for different Groups.

Tip: Featured Collections help route different members to the content that matters most to them, all from the same Front Page.

Choose a banner image

Banner images stretch to fit the full width of the browser and sit behind your headline text, so a little planning helps. Keep these things in mind:

  • All site visitors see the same banner images. They aren't Group-specific, so pick something that works for everyone.
  • Panoramic images work best. They leave room for your Featured Collections to show below the banner without anyone needing to scroll.
  • If you add more than one banner image, they rotate like a slideshow, and the tallest image sets the height of the banner window. Avoid mixing tall and short images. Taller images can push Featured Collections off-screen, while shorter images can leave black space below the banner. Use images with the same height to avoid both issues.
  • For a consistent look, crop your banner images to the same dimensions before using them. We recommend 3000×500.
  • The Headline and Copy Block render in white with a drop shadow, so they can get lost on light or busy backgrounds. Pick an image with enough contrast or empty space behind the text. If an image doesn’t provide enough contrast, try lightening or darkening the area behind the text.

Bad example: the headline and copy are lost against a busy banner.

Tip: Use high-res images. Since banners display at full browser width, low-res images will look soft or pixelated.

Find an Asset's GUID

Banner images are set by GUID (a unique ID Mediagraph assigns to every Asset), not uploaded directly. Once you've picked the image you want to use, you'll need to copy its GUID before you can add it to the Front Page.

You can find an Asset's GUID in two places: Thumbnail View or Asset Detail View.

Find a GUID in Thumbnail View

  1. Locate the Asset in your workspace.
  2. Hover over the Asset thumbnail, then click the eye icon in the lower-right corner.
  3. In the popover that appears, click the copy icon next to the GUID.

Find a GUID in Asset Detail View

  1. Locate the Asset in your workspace.
  2. Double-click the Asset to open the Asset Detail View.
  3. In the bottom-right corner, click the copy icon next to the GUID.

Change the default landing page

  1. In the top navigation bar, click Manage.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Site Settings.
  3. Locate the Default View drop-down list.
  4. Select Homepage or View All.
